Needs an entire team, early planning, lots of student input and lots of parent volunteers. This is a HUGE and very important event that needs strong and early planning and support. Will need a full complement of parents to run it effectively. Please think of the most organized students and parents you know, and reach out to them to ask if they would be interested in helping us pull out the stops for a high-demand, well attended event next spring! Only seniors can attend. Tickets are sold for a nominal price (last year it was $10). There is a county organization that planners need to join in order to be allowed to coordinate After Prom events for their schools: http://www.mcprojectprom.org/Meetings.aspx#nextmeetin
The MCProjectProm mission is “to support the efforts of volunteer parents in Montgomery County, Maryland who coordinate alcohol-free and drug-free After-Prom and After-Graduation events.
History and Goals: Montgomery County Project Prom/Graduation (MCPP/G) was founded in March, 1992. It is a coalition of volunteer parents from Montgomery County, Maryland, who coordinate alcohol-free and drug-free all-night after-prom/after-graduation celebrations. MCPP/G was organized to assist volunteers, to share information and resources, and to solicit regional support for their programs.”
